Most of us have been visitors at one time or another, so we can relate to what you might be feeling and the questions you might have. On this page, we’ve tried to answer some of your questions and let you know what to expect even before you arrive. It is our hope that after your first visit (and every visit), you will feel truly blessed to have been in the house of the Lord.

OUR MISSION

We exist to love God, love people/our neighbors, and make disciples of Jesus.

WE ARE

Beachside Baptist Church is a Christ-centered, caring church family located beachside in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Our desire is to love God and each other, and to share with others the Good News of Jesus Christ as we worship, teach, serve and nurture spiritual growth. Please feel welcome, as we count it a privilege to worship the Lord with you.

OUR BELIEFS

THE BIBLE: The Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter.

GOD: There is one infinite, personal God. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being.

MAN: Man was created by the special act of God, in His own image, and is the crowning work of His creation. By his free choice, man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ, died for man; therefore every person possesses dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

SALVATION: Salvation involves the redemption of the whole person and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, sanctification and glorification.

THE CHURCH: A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local body of baptized believers who are associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. The New Testament speaks also of the church as the body of Christ which includes all of the redeemed of all ages.

BAPTISM: Christian Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.

LORD’S SUPPER: The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby Christians memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His return. PLEASE NOTE: Any worship service in which the Lord’s Supper is to be observed at Beachside Baptist Church, the entire service is dedicated to the observance. You do not need to be a member. All born-again believers in Jesus Christ are welcome to join us at the Lord’s table. Please prepare your hearts for this observance.

EVANGELISM & MISSIONS: It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and of every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations seeking constantly to win the lost to Christ by personal effort.

LAST THING: God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly. The dead will be raised, Christ will judge everyone in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell. The righteous will receive their reward and dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord.

Pastor Khalil Ayoub

Pastor Khalil Ayoub

Pastor

Khalil was born in Marietta, OH, but grew up in Florida. His parents were both teachers at the North Florida Christian School in Tallahassee. They provided him with a strong Christian home and education.

Khalil accepted Christ when he was eight years old and was baptized at 16. His father's sudden death caused him to struggle with his faith for a time, but during his sophomore year in college, Khalil surrendered his life to the ministry. He has a bachelor's degree in Biblical/Church Ministries from Clearwater Christian College; a master's degree in Biblical Studies from Central Baptist Theological Seminary and is presently completing a master's degree in Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Khalil is a Spirit-filled, God-called pastor with a deep love for the Lord. He is an excellent, doctrinally sound preacher with a heart for reaching the lost. He is caring and compassionate and is able to counsel people.

He is joined by his wife, Alyssa, and sons, Judah and Justice.

WHERE IS BEACHSIDE BAPTIST CHURCH?

We are beachside in New Smyrna Beach, Florida at 629 S. Pine Street, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169. That means we are on the east side of the Intracoastal waterway (over the bridge). We are fairly easy to get to. See our Google location map on our contact page. Once you arrive, please note that visitor parking is designated by guest parking signs close to the church building.

WHERE DO I GO ONCE I GET THERE?

Depending upon what service you are attending, our signage will help guide you where to go. Sunday services are held in the Worship Center. The nursery and bathrooms are down a short hallway, marked with a sign on the west wall of our building. To locate a Sunday school group appropriate for your age, ask a Greeter, or stop in the Fellowship Hall. We’ll be happy to introduce you to a class. Our Fellowship Hall is a great place to grab a cup of coffee (sometimes a donut or other snack), meet a few members and possibly join other visitors. It is also where many special events are held.

WHAT ARE THE SERVICES LIKE?

We are a smaller congregation, yet growing because of the love we have for one another and our community. The Lord is working in our presence!  The sermon comes from God through His word within the Bible and songs are sung from a hymnal or words are displayed on a screen. Some may classify our services as “blended,” yet many of our visitors and new members are comforted by a traditional, yet relaxed service. Sure, we have fun. We’re not boring! We laugh, we clap, we rejoice. We invite visitors of all ages to join in.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE MEMBERS?

We want your visit at Beachside Baptist Church to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Our congregation is very loving and friendly, so don’t be surprised when you are approached by our members   to visit before or after the service. We’d love to get to know you better.

We will not make you stand up and announce yourself. We will not invade your private life (home visit, phone call or e-mail) without an invitation or your permission. We do ask that you fill out a visitor card. These are located in the pew back, or a tear-off portion of the bulletin. If you’d rather provide this information later, a return mailer can be provided with the gift bag given to first-time visitors.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME?

Nothing! We are just thrilled that you have chosen our church to visit. We are informal. You don’t have to dress up. You’re at the beach after all. Our services start on time and usually run one hour in length. You can be on your way to the beach before noon on Sundays!

Of course we’d love for you to worship with us on a regular basis, however, we know that some visitors are here on vacation, others are in town for the winter or a short time (also known as snowbirds); still others have recently relocated to New Smyrna Beach and are researching where they might best fit in. Maybe you’re a long-time resident of NSB and want to see what we’re all about. We want to serve your needs with the time we have with you. Please do not hesitate to let us know what those needs might be!

If you are a returning visitor, seeking church membership, or have questions, contact us or check out the many opportunities offered to get more involved. It is a blessing to have you!

IS THERE A CHILDREN’S MINISTRY?

Children ages 4 through 4th grade are welcome to stay with an adult during the Sunday worship service. However, they may opt to attend Children’s Church instead. The Children’s Department at Beachside Baptist Church focuses their Sunday School class curriculum around Bible-based stories that are fun and memorable. Each lesson is packed with content to reinforce the Gospel message. Your child will enjoy activities, games, singing and crafts, all of which focus on a wide range of Bible stories and lessons about Jesus Christ.

Parents are encouraged to get involved, as we believe that every parent should be involved in the dicipling of their kids. Parents are encouraged to discuss the lesson with the Sunday School teacher after class so that they will know what their kids are taught and can reinforce the lesson with any home-based activity. The classes are fun and enjoyable, and your child will be anxious to return week after week.

IS THERE A NURSERY?

Beachside Baptist Church Nursery is open during worship services each Sunday morning and during most ministry gatherings. Children from age birth to 3 years of age will be cared for by a qualified, loving volunteer. For the older children, activities may include coloring, games, and play-time focused around Bible stories. Infants are tended to with the utmost attention to their needs. Parents can rest assured their little angels will be well cared for while in the nursery. We count it a blessing to watch over them during your time of worship.
