Sunday, February 7 Service – Scriptures referenced within this sermon – Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 17:26; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; 1 Peter 3:7; Titus 2:2-8
People’s last words matter! In this sermon, we continue our Mission and Vision Series as we look at the last words of Jesus Christ before He ascended into heaven. I can’t even grasp the impact this moment had on the disciples as they realized this would be the last time they would see Jesus Christ on earth. They would no longer experience speaking face to face with the One they loved most. These men had left everything to follow Christ and now He is leaving them. The last words Jesus left them with became an anthem they would live by, etched into their minds and hearts. If these are the last words Christ chose to speak to His disciples, we must believe they are essential to our calling.
This radical statement by Jesus in Matthew 28 must be at the forefront of what we do as a church. We are not called to simply memorize this passage, but to live ALL of it out. This sermon covers what it means for us to make disciples of all nations. Listen and watch as we talk about the essential topic of Discipleship.
