Baptism is an important step in your journey as a follower of Christ and an outward symbol of the work He has already done in you.

Baptism is an important step in your journey as a follower of Christ and an outward symbol of the work He has already done in you.

The Bible paints a beautiful picture of baptism as our identification with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection. When you make the decision to accept Christ as your Savior, the Bible says that your old way of life is dead, and you are beginning a new life with Christ.

Accepting Christ as your Savior means you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and that by His death and bodily resurrection, He bridged the gap between you and God for all time. If you have come to this point in your spiritual journey, you are ready to be baptized. At Beachside, we practice baptism by full immersion, as we see it done through Scripture (Read: Matthew 3:16, Acts 8:37-38). Baptism is for anyone who has crossed the line of faith and made a personal decision to follow Jesus.

Still Have Questions?

How do I know if I'm ready to be baptized?

How do I know if I'm ready to be baptized?

Are you thinking about baptism? Being baptized is a public profession of faith and an act of obedience after coming to saving faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes your new life as a follower of Christ.

At Beachside, it is our joy to baptize believers as they seek to obey God’s Word and follow Jesus’ example.

Am I able to get baptized again?

Yes, you can, but remember; baptism is a symbol, not your salvation. Salvation precedes baptism and never depends upon it (Ephesians 2:8-9). If you decided to follow Jesus before and have made some mistakes along the way, you do not need to be baptized to be cleansed again. The cross has accomplished all the cleansing you need, so as long as you trust in Jesus and the redemption He has already accomplished for you, baptism is simply a symbol.

What if I was baptized or sprinkled as a baby?

Throughout the New Testament, baptism comes after repentance and faith. For this reason, Christians who were baptized as infants or by sprinkling often choose believer’s baptism as an act of obedience and a personal expression of faith in Jesus.
